Rick started in the world of finance and accounting over 40 years ago. He was raised to read and track stocks as a kid in grade school with his Father.  “Instead of reading the comics, my Dad and I would read the stock market in the newspaper” Rick says. He was always fascinated by the flow of money, where it would start and end.  He left a small town to move to the Bay Area shortly after high school.  Rick landed a job as an assistant manager at an apartment building where he lived in Marin County.  That’s where Rick learned property management and taking care of families housing needs.

The transition to finance was quick as he was studying accounting and taxation at Golden Gate University.  When he was showing investors around the building he was managing, they asked him what he was studying and he told them what his major was going to be.  2 months later the investors offered him a job lucrative enough to pull him away from a union job as a journeyman checker at Safeway. He started preparing clients tax returns and many other accounting services.

Rick continued his education in finance and was approached by a mortgage brokerage since he had extensive experience in property management and accounting/taxation.  He studied and received is mortgage broker license and started full time with the mortgage company.  He moved up in this brokerage to receive many accolades such as Mortgage Originator of the Year, Top Producer, Highest Volume and many more.

He decided to start his own company in Tiburon and built it to over 20 loan officers and 8 employees on staff.  In 2006 he was offered a generous offer to sell his business and work for a large East Coast bank on the wholesale side of the business.  Rick stayed in the wholesale business to this day.

When the recission hit in 2008, Rick used his time to give back to the community as well.  He volunteered as a Big Brother and was matched with a little brother Shane and they shared activities, sports (soccer coach) and life while encouraging other friends to volunteer with Big Brothers as well. To this day, Rick still supports local charities and especially charities that help families with children to help them grow and succeed.

Today, Rick wants to give back by adding real estate to help people get there lives back.  He wants to give people who are looking to grow and work on themselves by overcoming obstacles that are holding this back.  This starts with a safe, supportive and comfortable environment to live in. Rick believes in self improvement and growth take time, commitment, understanding and patience to the client and the structure of the process.

Bel Marin Keys “Some Beach” is named after it’s own private beach at waters edge.  The endless water view, large backyard and spacious living area provides room, privacy and group areas that give clients the opportunity to get back to the life they truly want with their families, friends and relationships with work.
