The process of finding sober living homes calling , waiting for a call back , getting the prices and setting up a tour was a 6 week process that yielded no satisfactory results. I finally found housing through word-of-mouth. Over the past several years I’ve helped many people looking for sober living. Regardless of credit, financial status or desperate need there is no clear way to find decent affordable housing that provides the support needed for a recovering my struggling alcoholic. I firmly believe that Seekhaven provides an answer to this problem and will help many families struggling to shelter loved ones who are in crisis.
My work as a policy maker on the Berkeley City Council and technologist in my legal and business practice requires me to seek out innovation partners. My latest effort is the creation of a new community health initiative that leverages community members and the latest in healthcare technology to help the homeless population. SeekHaven is an integral part of this effort. Seek haven’s ethical, directed use of technology is the model informing my health care policy work.
